The Power Project

The Power Project is our programme of work with teenagers focusing on performance, connection and creativity. A space where young people can meet, share their skills and be creative. The group meets Wednesdays 5 - 7pm plus holiday and performance projects.

After the success of their first performance Bernadette and Other Folk Tales, together with a growing company of young people, we’re working out what comes next and building a programme that includes a range of creative projects and art forms. For more info contact: power@restoke.org.uk

RIDE OR DIE

By Florence Espeut-Nickless

The Kids spend the whole year arguing about whether Alton Towers is actually better than Thorpe Park. At the moment Alton Towers has got 2 votes and Thorpe Park has got 2 votes. The deciding vote goes to the youngest, Angel who hasn’t actually been to any of them yet, cause she’s in year 7 and you don’t get to go on The Theme Park Extravaganza until the end of Year 7.

But that’s literally in like 2 weeks, so it’ll be settled once and for all, very very soon!  So what could possibly go wrong?....
Angel getting suspended from school, Nan going off on a surprise holiday, Dad coming round to look after them (and he's useless) and lasts one night, and The Kids borrowing Nan's car and colliding with a Waitrose delivery van.

The whole affair is literally a car crash.

This production is part of the National Theatre Connections Festival 2026.

Bernadette and other Teenage Folk Tales
Thursday 20 - Sunday 23 March 2025

A trilogy of teenage myth and transformation.

Bernadette and other Teenage Folk Tales was a surreal exploration of adolescence, folklore, and the stories we tell to survive the dark corners of growing up.

Spoken word, movement, live music and animation combine to create new worlds where the boundaries between myth and reality blur.

A Restoke production. Written by Florence Espeut-Nickless. Co-Created with the Power Project Company.
