YOU ARE HERE (2016)

Intimate and extraordinary journeys of migration, culture and belonging.

You Are Here was a promenade show devised and performed in the Wedgwood Institute, a former college for Science & the Arts in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. Co-created over 12 months with 15 people from 15 different countries who had moved, or been moved to Stoke-on-Trent. Supported by a team of professional artists, the project started with three ‘Culture Exchange’ events where people shared stories, songs, dances and food. We then explored the Wedgwood Institute with us as a venue to create a show together based on the groups lived-experiences. The audience were given a ticket - East or West which determined their route around the building with each new door opening to an intimate experience in story-telling, dance, live music and song.

“There is knowing a thing and then there is understanding. Beyond understanding there is a deeper, more profound connection. Thank you for showing me your stories. I understand now”

“ If everyone saw this show the world would be a better place”
